2.5. How to Access Remote Disks and Network Drives (Windows XP)


Connect using the Junos Pulse Client 

Start remote desktop by clicking on the icon.

Enter the computer name and the fully qualified domain name or the IP address of the computer you are remoting to.

Click the Option Button

On the Display Tab change the display size to match your home PC's display for example a 17" display is 1024x768, Change the amount of colors to display to 15 bit. This is fairly good quality. Anything less becomes difficult to view.

To have access to your network drives select the Local Resources Tab

Click on the More... button

Select the Drives and click the OK button.

Unselect ALL the options.

Press the Connect

Reducing the number of colors, screen size, and other enhanced feature

This will significantly reduce the amount of information passed between PCs and should make your remote session work more smoothly.
